Author: Kerr, R.
Title: Asian Ceramics in The Hallwyl Collection.
Due to generous support from the Hallwyl Museum Society, the museum has been able to process the collection of arts and crafts. The 78-volume catalogue, which Wilhelmina van Hallwyl's initiated and which was concluded in the mid-1950s, has therefore been partly revised. The East-Asian collection is by far the Museum's largest collection. In its entirety, this collection reflects a diversity of objects from the various dynasties as well as the interest in collecting East Asian Ceramics in the late 19th century, when Wilhelmina von Hallwyl began building her collection. Rose Kerr, former Keeper of the Far Eastern Department at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London has, in collaboration with Senior Curator Ingalill Hansson, processed the collection and written the catalogue entries. Together, Kerr's and Joansson's chapters Characterize the collection as well as put them in new national and international perspective, highlighting its acquisition history.
