On the exterior wall decorated with two groups of rocks grasses and peonies. On the sides and rim cloud-like partitions with flower sprays, foliate scrolls, paulownia branches, a standing phoenix and a phoenix in flight. On the interior wall three sprays of fruiting pomegranate, peach and 'Buddha's-hand citron' (Citrus medica) or finger-lemon fruit sprays.

This type of decoration is traditionally called 'gold' Imari because of the lavish use of gold, on this bowl it is combined with overglaze green enamel, black and iron-red. (Jörg 2003/1, p.112)
